there is a lot of opinions on that subject....but here is mine....if he comes climbs out willingly then i dont see how you can stress him out...but if you try to keep him in i think it would stress him out more than just letting him climb out onto you....my guy will climb up onto my shoulder and stay there..so i take him outside when its nice and he loves it..(just be careful not to drop him)..i never force my chams out though...the only time i ever did that was to put them in their new enclosures....my other lil guy dont want to be bothered with so i let him be....:D...hope this helped!

I`m of the same mentality...my male and female Nosy Faly will walk out on me while I mist their cages...usually the male gets up on his back legs and waves his arms in the air like `YAHOOOOO SHOWAH TIME!` and then forgets where he is and falls...so when I spray, I have my hand close to him to catch him, and most times he will just walk up my arm and out. So if he wants out, sure, but I don`t go in there picking him up...I`ve been told he bites ;)

It's so nice to hear people with chameleons that are similar in character to
my little man, and that if he walks on to our hands it's ok as it's his choice. you hear so many people say u shouldn't handle them
at all and they get stressed out and they don't
like being handled at all. He is really laid back and never hisses at us when he is out and dosent go dark or anything so all I can assume is he trusts us and isn't stressed. Saying that there are so many differing opinions on all aspects of keeping a chameleon on this forum I think you just have to do your research follow your instincts and just try to do what's best for your chamelon to keep him happy and healthy and if what you are doing works and your Cham is happy and healthy keep with it

Good looking chap, the cham that is.

It good to handel your chams if they like it, some people just don't know how to handel them that is the problem!;)
