Should I upgrade my heat lamp wattage?

I use a 60 watt heat bulb for my male panther chameleon and I know they need a 85° basking spot but right now it’s 80° should I upgrade to a 70 or a 75 watt or is it fine as is (he is 9 months old)

I would upgrade to a 75w, but just make sure it gives the desired temp and not too warm.

Providing you are using the standard recommended T5 fixture with either a ReptiSun 5.0 or Arcadia 6% uvb bulb, the distance should be 8-9”. The distance is dictated by which type and strength uvb you are using.

I’m using 5.0 reptisun so the length from heat lamp to branch is decided on the uvb

8-9” is the ideal distance then.
