Mushrooms sprouting

I have been having a problem with mushrooms over the last couple weeks sprouting in my ficus pot.
I always clean up the feces and dead cricket so I don't really understand why this is happening.
I'll get a picture of the mushroom when I have a chance but I will remove them and disinfect the area and there will be another in a different spot in two days.

Could be the potting soil. I had a batch of mulch (outside) that kept sprouting mushrooms, but the mulch from a different store didn't sprout any. My best guess was that there were mushroom spores in that particular batch of mulch. Maybe that's what is going on with your ficus soil.

Are these dangerous mushrooms? If they are non toxic then I don't have to worry about them, but if they are I'm probably going to buy a fake ficus and take out the real ficus until I can repot the ficus.

Well, I have reached out to an expert regarding this mushroom type. Hopefully they will be able to identify this.
I will post the information about this specific type for future reference if anyone else is curious or having issues

He said it is a Coprinus plicatus mushroom. Not uncommon or edible.
Quote "Fungi are a primary or supplementary food source for many reptiles, amphibians, birds, and other vertebrates. Your little pal may indeed have a taste for them, but it is not a fatal attraction.."
Thoughts on this?

Not uncommon and not edible? Or yes, it is edible and NOT a fatal attraction?

It lists it as being edible, but it says that it's just not worthwhile. So it's confusing lol. But he says it's not fatal. And perhaps beings lizards, amphibians etc.. Eat primarily or supplementary fungi then it would not cause the potential harm it would cause a human?

just to inform u jiust cause u pull out the reproductive structure of a mushroom doesnt meen you have pulled out the mycelium which is the main part of the mushroom that grows under the soil kinda like roots here is a pic. Hope this helps to understand why more caps might be popping up

Interesting, I did not know this. Makes sense now.. Looks like I may have to repot. Well if they are not harmful to him; rather supplemental to him, then I'll just leave them be.
Thanks for sharing

you might also be over-watering. A diluted hydrogen peroxide solution works to aerate roots/soil and kills spores and fungus. A tablespoon of 3% H2O2 per cup of water works well
