Dark and evil? Interesting perspective, though not one I had in mind. Glad you like them-- here are a few more.

I would go as far as saying i would love to frame one of those pictures... The darkness of the picture and the eyes of deremensis Give it a powerful feel. Great job man

Fabian those are great pictures. I can't explain it but I can see the chameleons better without all the color, excellent

What beautiful pictures! Those horns are amazing, they seem to make a perfect isosceles triangle (2nd pic on 2nd post)! Quite fabulous!

Yesss, we want the Precious, the Precious is ours, they played trixies on us...Go-llum Go-llum.

Nice photos Fabian, now I will have nightmares of my deremensis and their hidden dark sides.

Thanks, Chris. I agree-- the eyes of deremensis are quite compelling. Almost elephant-like.

Definitely, Laurie. The effect is accentuated at larger resolutions, too!

Ha! Interesting observation-- sounds like you did well in trig, Amanda ;) The recent Texas rain has provided the ideal lighting for these shots. It'll be interesting to compare their horn growth in photographs once they reach full maturity...

Thanks for the notes Jordan, David. These were shot with the small but always dependable Nikon D40 and a 105mm F2.5 Nikkor lens. I've previously shot the deremensis using a fast 50mm prime, but they despise the camera, so it was tough to capture any natural behavior. The use of this telephoto changed the direction of the game-- can't wait to go out and shoot some more.

#2 is my favorite!

Ah, good choice. That one currently resides as a wallpaper on my phone...

Hey Amy. How are they, by the way? They must be loving the Washington weather.

Cheers!

Ah the good ol D40. I have my D5000 but only have my 18-55 and 55-200 AF/VR kit lenses so far. Cant wait to get a good lens like yours to take my pics :D
