you need to keep your culture alittle cooler. the mold comes from the culture being alittle warmer then room temp and it spoils and becomes sour then the molding starts..its not good for your chams . i have had the mold problem but i have never seen the mites. i am at the end of 2 cultures right now and have never seen any mites . i imagine if i cultured myself and had it sitting around for over 6 months there would be some but the culture i get at pet smart only last about 3 months and its ran out time for a new one.
