Misting directly on chameleon

When I myst my chameleons outside cage should I watch not to mist on my cham totally or its fine if I mist him a little bit? I’m asking because I see people usually say dont mist your chameleon because you can get water in his lungs.

I use an automatic mister and sometimes my chameleons get right under the nozzle when it comes on. They drink and clean their eyes. Other days they only get close enough to get wet. Rarely to they move away to where they get no water at all.
