Mist King Question

I just got my new cage for my 1 year old veiled. It's 2'x2'x4'. I have the mist king set up and working but I was wondering how long and how many times a day I should have it run?

This is my first mist king so any help is appreciated!

It kinda depends on if you have a drainage system. I don't and I have mine programmed to go off 6 times a day for 45 seconds each time with 2 nozzles. It seems to work great as it dries up in between mistings and before lights out. If you have a drainage system you can run it for alot longer.

That's exactly what I have it doing! Every two hrs for 45 seconds at a time. I have a second nozzle, do you recommend using two?

I only use one nozzle per cage but I have drainage and run mine 3 times a day for 6 minutes each time.

What kind of drainage system do you have?

I started by only hooking one up but hooked the second one up shortly after and like it better because it can mist a larger area. I have the nozzles setup in opposite corners for optimum misting.

It also depends how hot it gets. You want to mist more when it gets hot. Also what kind of plant you have. Too much water may kill the plant. I have my setup 6 times a day for 2 min each time with two nozzles. I also have a ficus and I think i am over watering it. I see new growth on the tree, but I also see a lot of green leaves are falling down.

i'm thinking of getting the starter misting system. does it have a timer on it or do i need to purchase one?

Purchase one from Mist King. It is really hard to find the seconds timers and that will allow you to run it for 1 second at a time on up.
