Mist and Drip or No drip just mist, no mist just drip

HI,

As the title states: do I need to mist and have a dripper or just mist? I have read different things and just want claification. I will be getting a Veiled Chameleon soon. Also what is the humidity range for Veileds?

I only mist, but I mist a lot more than most people. I have the mister running nearly 50 minutes a day (at different lengths throughout the day) for all my chams, but since my veiled needs less water than my other chams, I have her nozzle pointing at a corner instead of over the entire cage. So she can pick and choose when to get water, and she's been doing great.

Some people combine methods, but I think in my case dripping is overkill. But see what works best for you. Do you have/plan on getting a misting system? If you're going to hand mist, then perhaps dripping and misting are for you. Or if you are at work/school all day, drippers are good.

As a beginner, unless you are using glass enclosures, you better use both methods. In my opinion, too much is better than not enough for this situation. Of course, you'll need a drain, otherwise your chameleon could get sick!

However, i believe Olimpia is not doing something wrong! But it's not like Olimpia was a beginner! ;)
