Meet Leo!

I understand about them being high up..but if I put something for him to hide in around his vines, would that not prevent him from getting adequate UVB? I was told UVB was only good up to 8 inches and I would be afraid that interference would limit his exposure.. If he wanted to hide, there is a large plant on one of the lower vines that he sleeps in. He makes no attempt. Check through the gallery and look at the other peoples cages and go critique their "bare" cages. I have a small nursery growing in mine.

You need more up high is what im saying.

No need to be defensive ;)

The thing is...I dont have a way to hang plants. I have a reptarium with no center bar and any weight on the ceiling would cave it.. so hanging the plants from the vines is my only option. I have 7 plants in there ranging some small pothos or a VERY large schefflera (two in fact now)..This cage is over 6 ft tall by 3.5 feet wide but made of mesh and PVC so I have to be careful about putting heft weight on it. Gimme some ideas and Ill consider them. ;)

Sure - build an addition onto the house; screen the doorway - now you have a 10' x 10' free range enclosure :D

Oh I left out a step - first get the right Lottery numbers

Apparently.. Wait, you meant YOU were gonna do that for ME for FREE right? :) Thats sooo sweet of you! :)

Can you make a little extra room for a jacuzzi? :)

Leo Shed!

And now he is SUPER dark. I was hoping he would lighten up to get more color variation, but he is dark greens, some blue..to being almost black sometimes. He is still shy of me and runs away but doesnt mind me staring at him and isn't bothered when I watch him eat. His cage is now in the sunroom since its warming up and he loves sitting on his vine staring out the window. I see the longing in his eyes. LOL!

`Leo is so cute

I do not know why but chasmeleons remind me of dinosaurs.. Just there look...

The casque of a veiled chameleon... looks like uhh some dinosaur :p

Tricerotops - Jacksons

Am i the only one who thinks this?

Haha.. Beautiful chameleon.. :p Love his colour

I have always thought that Chams descended from a species of Dinosaurs. I should ask the hubby, he knows all the little info that no one else seems to.

And Leo Thanks you.

Leo Basking

My Schefflera is pretty sad looking. Soil is wet yet the leaves are dry and keep falling. Ah well. Leo is enjoying staring out the window.

The only thing I messed with was the blurring nf edges and the colored border. He has become that dark.

Staring out the window might be stressing him out. He could either be seeing things outside or the reflection could be bothering him. He could also be cold. Have you checked his temps? He should not be staying black.

He is not black, just dark since he shed. Nothing has changed. He was fine before but the instant all his skin came off, he has been dark. The temp in the sunroom is not as hot as under a basking bulb of course, but average of 75-79. He has white spots down his sides now, which ive never seen before. very interesting.

Nothing outside but woods. Not even birds today as its dreary. He is just hanging out.

Reminds of this time I convinced someone my cham was a minisaurus, a newley discovered species of dinosaur still alive today. After a 2002 discovery in new zealand it was no other than the minisaurus that took the reptile worldby storm. However only several can be bred a year, by licence, per qualified states. If there was no limit, things could end up like Jurrasic Park. I don't think I ever told him otherwise after that.

Drinking

I only have a point and shoot right now until I get around to picking up my Canon later on this weekend.. But I misted yesterday and Leo came down for a drink.

is that free range?

He is sittong on a Shefflera plant with a wooden pole in it for stability next to his cage looking out the window. So technically, he would be free range at that moment, but I am 2 feet away on this computer. And he doesnt move, just stares until i put him back.

Are you trying to find issues to rag on me about ;)

HES really cool betty and a beautiful specimen i believe that was the deal of the year when you got him you lucky ducky:D
