Meet Jean-Luc (Picard)!

Well, here he is, emphatically saying "you are scary". But, he did eat one cricket out of my hand this morning! He probably wants more, but he got a little too freaked by then. I left two butterworms in a cup for him while I am gone today.

I got him last night from Chameleons Northwest, so many thanks to them They even managed to hand-deliver him, as they so happened to be coming to my area.

I'm worried about how much he'll eat today because he's a little stressed out...his cage is big so I'm worried if I just release some crickets, he'll never actually get them.

i have a different kind of cham then you but normally if u want him to hunt for crickets he will find them my guy never fails to find one if he wants one lol.
normally he will hang from his tail if he sees one that might be out of his reach.

if im not handfeeding i prefer to use a feeding cup. you can keep a better idea of what hes actually eating that way. if your free ranging the prey he could miss tonnes of it, not such a big deal when hes full grown but when hes a baby id want to know hes getting the right amount every day.

i do like to put in a few locusts for him to hunt at his leisure though, as they climb on EVERYTHING they often give him a challenge.

Well, he just ate two more from my hand, and two more on the cage wall, so now he's up to six. I tried to hand feed him a third but he hissed at my hand that time I feel really bad, I don't want to scare him! He's been so good so far!

He has several more, at least five more, that are hanging around his basking spot, plus the two butterworms. I hope this is enough for the first day, and that he'll become more comfortable around me. I guess I should be happy he's eating, huh?

eatings always good. chams going off their food can be a nightmare...as with any reptile.

get used to hissing btw, dont feel bad its just the way they are. chances are when he matures he'll be a meany. mine wants me dead but i kind of like his bad attitude.

I got home, and he ate his butterworms! and all but one of the crickets, it seems.
