Chameleon Info:
*Delilah - Baby Female(i think?) Veiled Chameleon, I bought her 2 days ago so she has been in her enclosure for 2 days!
*Handling - Never, besides when I put her in the cage after I bought her.
*Feeding - I am feeding my baby chameleon 1/4'' crickets for now about 5-10 crickets 2x a day
*Supplements - MON/TUES/THURS/FRI/SUN --> Repticalcium without D3 WED --> Alternate #1, 1:1 Repticalcium without D3 and RepCal Herptivite Multivitamins. #2, 1:1 RepCal w/ D3 and RepCal Herptivite Multivitamins.
SAT--> No supplement
*Watering - I use the McDonalds drip system (aka McDonalds cup w/ small hole on bottom.) I also mist the live plants and the chameleon about 3-4times a day.
*Fecal Description - The consistancy seemed normal, dark brown strip with white uraite at the end.
*History - I bought her from Petco. They got her and I picked her up within a week or less. Seemed like they took pretty good care of her. No lathargy/bad or missing limbs/tail in good condition/eyes were fine/good color. Since I have had her she seems a lot happier in her bigger enviroment. I have plenty of vines/branches for her to move around. And the two days ive had her she seems like shes loving life; she has been eating regularly + drinking when i mist her and climbing around her enclosure.
Cage Info:
*Cage Type - Aluminum Screen Cage 15W x 30L x 32H
*Lighting - For now I have been using a 125watt Solar Glo UVA/UVB mercury vapor bulb. It is hanging from the ceiling about 10inches above the enclosure and main basking vine 14 hours of daylight / 10 hours of night. I have heard a lot of controversy about the UVA/UVB mercury vapor bulbs but I have also read if u extend it over the age about 10+ inches it is effective, doesnt get too hot and will emit the right uvb radiation. Let me know your thoughts...
*Temperature - Basking is about 90-95F and Ambient is about 80-85F (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest nighttime temperature is probably around 75-80. I use a digital thermometer which works great!
*Humidity - Humidity is about 40-50 percent.
*Plants - I am using 2 real medium size hibiscus rosa plus some flukers artifical vines/biovine)
*Placement - My cage is located against the wall in the far back of my room. I have no fans in my room and its about 2 feet away from an air vent. The cage is ontop of my dresser thats about 4 feet high.
*Location - Gilbert, Arizona (20mi south east of Phoenix) it gets pretty hot here but thankfully we have airconditioning that works well and moderates the temperature all day.
Current Problem - No current problems just would like to hear opinions about Delilah and my current caretaking for her!
