Chameleon Info:

*Delilah - Baby Female(i think?) Veiled Chameleon, I bought her 2 days ago so she has been in her enclosure for 2 days!

*Handling - Never, besides when I put her in the cage after I bought her.

*Feeding - I am feeding my baby chameleon 1/4'' crickets for now about 5-10 crickets 2x a day

*Supplements - MON/TUES/THURS/FRI/SUN --> Repticalcium without D3 WED --> Alternate #1, 1:1 Repticalcium without D3 and RepCal Herptivite Multivitamins. #2, 1:1 RepCal w/ D3 and RepCal Herptivite Multivitamins.
SAT--> No supplement

*Watering - I use the McDonalds drip system (aka McDonalds cup w/ small hole on bottom.) I also mist the live plants and the chameleon about 3-4times a day.

*Fecal Description - The consistancy seemed normal, dark brown strip with white uraite at the end.

*History - I bought her from Petco. They got her and I picked her up within a week or less. Seemed like they took pretty good care of her. No lathargy/bad or missing limbs/tail in good condition/eyes were fine/good color. Since I have had her she seems a lot happier in her bigger enviroment. I have plenty of vines/branches for her to move around. And the two days ive had her she seems like shes loving life; she has been eating regularly + drinking when i mist her and climbing around her enclosure. :D

Cage Info:

*Cage Type - Aluminum Screen Cage 15W x 30L x 32H

*Lighting - For now I have been using a 125watt Solar Glo UVA/UVB mercury vapor bulb. It is hanging from the ceiling about 10inches above the enclosure and main basking vine 14 hours of daylight / 10 hours of night. I have heard a lot of controversy about the UVA/UVB mercury vapor bulbs but I have also read if u extend it over the age about 10+ inches it is effective, doesnt get too hot and will emit the right uvb radiation. Let me know your thoughts...

*Temperature - Basking is about 90-95F and Ambient is about 80-85F (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest nighttime temperature is probably around 75-80. I use a digital thermometer which works great!

*Humidity - Humidity is about 40-50 percent.

*Plants - I am using 2 real medium size hibiscus rosa plus some flukers artifical vines/biovine)

*Placement - My cage is located against the wall in the far back of my room. I have no fans in my room and its about 2 feet away from an air vent. The cage is ontop of my dresser thats about 4 feet high.

*Location - Gilbert, Arizona (20mi south east of Phoenix) it gets pretty hot here but thankfully we have airconditioning that works well and moderates the temperature all day.

Current Problem - No current problems just would like to hear opinions about Delilah and my current caretaking for her! :cool:

First, I love not being the only person in the world who often takes pictures that blur. Your baby is just sweet, congratulations. Her basking temp is a bit high as she looks pretty young. imo

Hahaha ya my GF took the pictures on her camera and they all came out a bit blury... O well. Thanks for the help I ill turn my basking temp down to 90 degrees. Does that sound better? What would u have ur basking temp at? :p

Thanks for the help and comments Elizadolots! :D I will watch my humidity. Ive heard 40-50% humidity... What do you think is more appropriate?

I don't do veileds, so can't really say, but you're in an area where humidity is an issue and air conditioning sucks the air dry so you need to keep an eye on it. That eye might say "oh, look! this is perfect!" I love when that happens.

I would say for babies the basking should be low 80's.
Im pretty sure my juvi veiled is fine basking at MID to low 80s
It really shouldn't be 90 until their adults and ambient should be in the 70s and at night in the 60s.

Not a problem...if you find you have humidity issues, there are loads of people here who deal with dry climates and chameleons that need more humidity than yours so you can find assistance.

Also in addition to my last statement you should really only be dusting with d3 every two weeks (twice a month) same with the multivitamin.
I thinkkk once a week is over doing it.
too much d3 is bad.

Delilah is beautiful!!!:D

Like mentioned before I would lower the basking temp to the low 80's.

If you are having problems with humidity you can hang a couple pothos or wrap the back with plastic. Just a couple things I do that have seem to work well.

As a baby 85 F. will be the perfect basking temperature for growth and stable metabolism. As a female, 85 F. will be perfect for her lifetime.

40%-50% humidity is around perfect for a Veiled, but how are you measuring the humidity?

I can't say much about your lighting as I don't know much about it :/ but I will always recommend reptisun 5.0 and good ole natural sunshine ( especially since your in Arizona! :) )
