Are there any common side effects of antibiotics by injection? I know it can be hard on their bodies and decrease their appetite. What else should I be watching for? It's my first time giving her medication. She has a respiratory issue.

What kind of antibiotics? Baytril can burn a hole in the muscle and is very painful. Baytril is not recommended for injection to something as small as a chameleon. Are you giving the injections? Did the vet train you?

Thank you for that. She was prescribed Ceftazidime by injection. Yes the vet and vet tech showed me how to do it with her first one. They took the time to explain to me how and why they do it the way they do. It goes in on the back side of her front legs. They recommended I have someone assist me while doing it. Which I do. She isn't showing signs of her arms weakening due to the injection site yet. She's only been giving two doses.
