Male veiled dark when basking

He always goes dark when he's basking. i was just wondering if this was normal. he's eating and acting fine. he's my first and i am still learning. he moves all around his cage and goes to the mid-level branches and waits to be fed. his colors change to bright when he moves around but always dark when basking.

The Cham gets dark to probably to absorb the most heat, darker pigments help, once he gets to his preferred temp he can release some of that heat and turn to a lighter color.. He's good mine does the same
