Male trying to eat female!

Has anyone ever experienced their male trying to eat their female? I was holding my female up to my male panther trying to get him to do something head bob but he doesn't do anything he might be a gay chameleon that ive heard its true. But he tried to shoot his tongue at her and i dont think thats normal! Has it happened to anyone else?

Yup. If its not mating season, your female is either food or foe. She better be at least half his weight.

I really doubt he is gay. Sometimes they are more shy about mating and will not do it with you looking at them. If you put another male in there, there will be a fight, not breeding.

How big is your female? If she is too small, they may view her as food, but that is really rare in Panthers. Mine think that the carpets are suitable mates, and they are way smaller. Did he shoot his tongue at her tail? He may have mistaken it for a worm.

Also, do you hand feed him? This may lead to the confusion as I know that some of my guys will shoot at anything that I have in my hand.

see the thing is i put him next to males all the time he doesn't fire up at all its like he doesnt even care there is a another male. And i do hand feed him and it put her head near him and she is a pretty big girl.
