Can I ask why people say female? I haven't had a Jacksons, but from the other pics I've seen that horn looks like that of a pretty young male. Can I see pics to refer to?

It has the horn on it nose (as you can see) but then on its eyes there are very little ones too, if you look closley you can see them. I am asking because I read somewere that even female's can get small horns and since its only a few months old I cant tell if it's just that the horns arn't grown out yet or if its just a female.

if its a jackson ( Jacksonii ) there is a possibility that the female have 3 horns, am still in the loope on trying to sex them, i think they are the hardest to sex
hope this helps u out some what tho in my opinion i think its a girl because mostly girl have one horn like that but like i said it all depends on the species

I dont think he/she is just a couple of months. My Jacksons are 11 months and are a little bigger than that, but that could just be the picture you uploaded. And if it was a male and older it should have developted larger horns than it has. IMO :D

Yes! we went in for a water dragon or a bearded dragon and saw the chameleon and had to have it.

it happens. be alert for an RI. if you see the chameleon weezing you'll need to take it to the vet. because of the invironment petmart provides these are common. just depends how long they had it. you should also have a poop check to make shure theres no parasites present. if you havent already fill out the "how to ask for help" in the health section of the forums. we can assure your giveing the best possible care for you new family member. welcome to your new obsession :)

It seems to be good and healthy right now but I do plan on getting a few checkups done on it just to be sure.

It is a female xanth jackson.

While most females have almost no horns at all. it is possible for some xanth girls to develop small rostral (nose) horns.

as someone previously said, the males would have much more pronounced and obvious horns on a cham that size.

So, this is a girl.. and she is very stressed and unhappy right now (can tell from the dark coloration).

how are you caring for her?

lights, temps, food, cage, etc.

She was actually green until I put the camera in her face. she has a 5.0 uvb light on her from 7 am to 7 pm, a 50w basking bulb in the corner, and I dont use a night bulb anymore cause everything Ive read says not to use it. temp during the day is 80-85 at night maybe 65-70, and then under the basking its maybe 85-90 degrees. Food wise I feed her crickets that are dusted 3 times a week since all I have is the d3 calcium, meal worms a few times a week, wax worms every now and then when I have them, and I raised a few generations of flys for her since I know if I just catch a random fly it could have parasites. She is in a glass cage right now on top of my dresser so that the top is the tallest thing in the room, I think its like 2x2x3. I do plan on building a screen cage soon that is alot bigger but I just dont have the materials right now.

Another picture of her in a better mood and a picture of her inclosure.
