male/female sharing enclosure?

I'm curious...in all the research you say you have done did NONE of the sites or articles say to house chams individually? That seems odd. I'm not trying to pick on you or the work you've already done (which is GREAT!), but I'd want to know what sites have such poor information and those particular sources came up more easily than the "good" stuff.

Or, maybe you were reading some outdated books?

The good thing is you asked. Your chams will thank you!

well... when i said i had been doing a lot of research, I wasn't referring specifically to keeping a male/female in one enclosure. However, I did check out several books from the library, and I think i remember reading that it was appropriate(with some species). Ill have to double check that before I'm willing to include the books title, but even so.. the book was not a care guide on JUST panthers, or veilds. My point is, that even if i did read that, the author probably went on to explain when, and with what species it can work.
To address your concern, I do feel like i have a pretty good grasp on the requirements of keeping a chameleon, and the responsibilities/rewards associated with the hobby. I was planning on starting with ONE male anyway, adding the female was just a distant forethought.

I stood in lllreptile and looked at two different books that said it was perfectly fine to house multiple chameleons, male and female, in the same enclosure. "Bad" "Outdated" literature is still being sold by the major providers of chameleon supplies.

I'm just pointing that out because "doing research" does not guarantee getting the best information and while new/prospective owners need to know that, it's also something we need to keep in mind: someone could have done "research" at one of the most respected and recommended providers of chameleon supplies, viewing multiple resources, yet get the wrong information.
