Maintaining temp. during/after misting?

I haven't purchased my chameleon yet but I have a working enclosure that I have been using as if there were a chameleon in it. Every time I mist it the temperature drops to 71 - 69 F even in the basking area. Is this ok, or should I try to keep the temp up?

Its perfectly fine. That will happen . The temp will rise pretty quickly back to its normal temp. Your Cham will move into the basking area to warm up if it needs to.

I think it would be very very hard to keep temps up straight after and during misting. I wouldn't worry to much as long as they gradually rise..The idea is to let it all dry out before misting again, that way the cham can have a chance to warm up etc.

When I mist I put HOT water into the mister, when it dicipates in the air it cools to a more tolerable temp, and should not be as much of a shock to your cham, and probably won't mess with the temps as much.

Ditt on what Joe said -

With my chams...when I had em I put in hot hot water into the reserve and let the water mist on the animals...this works great when it comes out as the water is not freezing. You will get a temp drop in which the cham will find a warm spot with the lights on....as long as your not venturing into say the 50s or so then there is nothing to worry about. A typical night time drop would be in the 60s - 70s anyways.

Thanks the hot water does sound like a good idea i will try it. I figured it wouldn't do any harm i just wanted to make sure.
