I have already ordered a cage with all the 'fixins'. Now I just need to find where to get the little guy. Any suggestions..? I have seen LLL reptile is running a deal where you can get a cham for 5.00 dollars overnight shipping. I am new to cham's and really don't know what to get. I am thinking a male ambilobe about 4 months should be a good start. I would like to get a really colorful cham. Also, i'm on a tight budget right now and can't go over 200.00 shipped. Any advice would be great. I don't want to get a cham from a bad place/person.

If your budget is tight, consider waiting. Chameleons are not inexpensive to buy, house, feed, light, take to the vet etc.

Try going to http://www.chameleonsnorthwest.com/, I just purchased a female Ambilobe panther for under $200 shipped and she is in great health and is 5 months old.
I believe the males might be a bit more expensive but not much.
Also being on a tight budget might not be the best time to purchase one as some of the other members have pointed out because there is a pretty decent cost to maintain the enclosure / chameleon, not just on food but on supplements, upgrading the enclosure when the chameleon gets larger etc.
I however was able to maintain everything on a low budget when I purchased my first panther chameleon, just know what your getting into before you make the purchase

If you want a male specifically, don't buy from LLL, you can't choose male or female, buy from a site sponsor.
