I'd like to have live plants in the enclosure for my chameleon but since a substrate isn't wanted, it's kind of hard to grow a plant without soil
Anyways here's my idea (apologies in advance for the extremely crude drawing)
Explanation:
I was thinking about getting a planter and adding gravel/rock to the bottom layer, soil (unfertilized/pesticide free/etc.)in the middle and maybe some peat moss like substance to aid in water absorption.
I then was thinking about covering it completely with the tarp that is supposed to prevent weed growth in gardens to protect Sammi from accidentally ingesting some of the moss/soil. I'd then remove the bottom section of the enclosure and place it over the tarp.
Would this be a good idea? As I was typing this I realized a planter isn't really necessary. I could keep the enclosure all together and put the stuff inside.
What do you think? It'd be nice to have living, thriving plants in an enclosure without planters and stuff in the way (yuck)
