So, Lily has been crazy restless for the last week or two and just motoring around. I was suspicious of her being somewhere between receptive and gravid, but couldn't tell for sure- panthers seem much more subtle than veileds! And with her having being on and off sickly for the last few months, I can barely remember her "normal". Her weight as of yesterday is only 48g, so I sort of wrote it off. No way she's carrying eggs at that sort of weight, right? And visually, she doesn't look like she's carrying.
Well, this afternoon has her facedown in a hole, digging away. Here's to a quick lay and a small clutch, Lily! She couldn't have picked a worse time if she tried... I'll be gone for the next few days while I visit family.
This will be her first clutch.
Yesterday, right before weighing her (she had been rooting around in her substrate):
Today:
I hope she doesn't get too chilly. I misted her enclosure before I found her. It's a pretty hidden spot! Gonna end up right against the PVC pipe and the corner of the planter, assuming this isn't a test hole.
