Likes to come out of cage now!!!

I have been trying to get my panther Farley to get very used to handling without ever pushing him into things he doesnt want to do. I started with luring him onto my hand with food and worked up to just being around him more often. Today he was down around the bottom of his cage looking like he wanted out and I cracked the door and he came right out and walked onto my hand. I was so excited I really want him to be a very sociable chameleon. Has anyone else had any success with getting their chameleons to willingly come to them???

Elliot started doing the same thing yesterday..i almost had a heart attack when he came running down his branch and onto my hand!!!,he did the same today...it seems like he dont want to be in his enclosure...i thought i would never see the day that he wanted to come out...when i first got him he was just an angry lil guy..whenever i would go to mist him he would get all huffy, open his mouth and hiss....but now i believe he actually loves me...lol...but i NEVER force him out..i never held him before except when i put him in his new enclosure.....its amazing!!!

I know thats how Farley was I have never seen him move so fast. Farley was never mean or hissy he was always pretty nice but I have never seen him be so eager to get out. He likes his cage but lately he has just been looking like he wants out for awhile and then hell go back to normal after I let him out or ignore him long enough. I am very happy about it I really like that he wants to be social.

Thats pretty cool right....i have one of my chams he waits for me in the morning and as soon as he sees me he goes for the door and once i open it he comes out on to my hand...nice personality he has.

Ziggy my ambilobe has done that since he was small. I did the same thing with hand feeding and it has really made him friendly. It is strange that he will stop suddenly if a stranger puts their hand out to him. He'll still crawl on them but he thinks about it for a minute. They definitely can recognize their people.
