Lighting change

I recently changed my lighting from a exo terra 5.0 uvb coil to a reptisun 5.0 linear florescent lamp but since the change my cham is a darker green and not the usual Lime green. I'm kinda worried cause i know that darker the cham the more stressed they are. I'm just worried there is a problem and that my cham isn't getting the proper uvb rays it needs. I recently had someone form the forums tell me my cham might have early signs of MBD and i really want to make sure everything is corrected.

The basking temp may not be warm enough. Chams turn darker to absorb more heat. What is the basking temp?

Basking temp is good and the reptisun 5.0 linear florescent is the most recommended so it's not that she's not getting enough UVB. Maybe she's just getting use to the change.

Without before and after pics it is hard to say. Can your cham get within 18" of the new ReptiSun? That is important. It could be what you were used to seeing was NOT the optimal color. But there are many subtle variations on an individual cham's shade of green too. Many many of us have used the combination of a basking light and ReptiSuns with no problems. If your temps are right should work. Stress can show as dark, but we are talking blackish green with more intense markings, not a few shades darker green.

It sounds okay to me. Your cham may just be a little stressed because the reptisun is so much longer than the coil bulb. Maybe hes just getting used to the change?

CFL's give off a fair amount of heat... she might have been getting some of it. Try raising the temp a tad and see what you get... She might be stressed of the light change. the CFl and the linear tubes from two different brands will look different to the cham.
