Light your reptiles review.

So I just set up my dual 24" light your reptiles fixture over my jacksons chameleon enclosure,runs a 6.5 day lighter and a 6%
This is a pic with just a 18" Zoomed t8 5.0 and a 60w blue Zoomed bulb.

And with the new fixture.

Pretty noticeable coverage increase and bright factor.
And of course todds customer service was excellent,he was quick to help with any questions and it was clear he had my animals well
being in forethought.
Do yourself a favor and get one of these.

Seriously, I am involved in many different reptile forums, but the Cham people on this forum are some of the nicest and most passionate there are.


OH...Yes...
and that Croton should be happy now, too boot.

I love those plants,
but they are one that is fussy bugger to keep looking great.

They will look all good for a few weeks & then loose the leaves one by one if they don't have good light.

Then you end up with a gawky stalk and 3 or 4 no - color leaves that seems to live forever.
LOL

We must revolutionize how animals (and their environments) are lit in captivity.

It IS that important.

Reptiles are Children of the Sun, and the ones that are stuck inside, are cut of from the real sun.
It is almost their Life-Blood!

So we must take great strides to provide them (and their environment) with the best quality lighting.

(I always say "environment" because it is more than just sticking a light bulb over the animal. )

Yea all the plants are kind of a new thing to me so that's been interesting on top of the chameleon learning.

I really like the Pothos it seems to hold the water for a long time and also does quite well inside. The Ficus and Schefflera also do great indoors. The Hibiscus is a favorite of the veileds but needs allot of light so your need to use hibiscus outside or have a couple to rotate from inside to outside for sun.

Good to know,I have casters on the enclosure so I can actually roll it to my sliding glass door and open it to allow sun in. So I may do that. Thanks for the info to digest.

Also,that pothos was massive when I bought it,most of the loss on it is from having to prune it to fit in my old 16x16x30,man that was alot of stuff to trim off lol. But im.glad the light came in to perk everything up. Now I feel like all my enclosure is 100% as far as all my requirements to keep the chameleon healthy are concerned. So that's always nice and reassuring...and most my system is automated so thst helps
