MY female has eggs sticking out of her sides and she refuses to lay them. I have never seen her dig. I dont know what to do. She might be dehighdrated. IDk. I have not seen her stool latly but I really need any suggestions. Please.

She mostly just lays in the bucket. I don't understand I move her to the vines and then she some how ends up in the bucket but won't dig! I am very frustrated!

I can't. Well one there is no aviation vet near here and second I can't afford a $100 vet bill right now. Besides the $300 sergury to get the eggs out. Another is I got this cham from a pet store and she was given to them. So is there anything else I can do?

If she is past her time to lay the eggs, the only hope for her is to see a vet. How long has she been sitting in the container??

If she's eggbound she's either recieves medical attention or she dies, frankly. I'm not saying it to be mean, but to highlight that it's a serious situation if she is eggbound. Many vets will work out a payment plan with you if you cannot pay for everything in one go. Where abouts are you located? Perhaps you have members nearby that can offer help or recommend vets in your area.

Thing is I don't want to drive two hours, no offense. Nature weeds out the weakest. I mean like what if I get this surgery and the Cham dies I loose $300+!

In the wild, its true, Mother Nature weeds out the weak. In captivity, we not only contribute to the weaknesses through improper husbandry, etc. at times... but IMHO when we take one on as a pet we've made a commitment to the animal to look after it. Perhaps there's a rescue in your area that would take it for you?

I totally agree. If you can not get her the medical attention that she needs then get her to someone that can.

Chameo is in Southern California the number is (818) 219-9315.

They handle rescues and do a great job. Give them a call and they will take her and give her the treatment she so deserves.

Not to have ago but why did you get her if your not willing to pay for her needs? That poor girl needs a vet or she WILL die, we get them it's up to us as responsible owners to keep them healthy at any cost or pay to have them out of pain. Sorry if im being harsh but you shouldn't have got her in the first place. I have a bank account alone for my animals vet bills, money out my wage goes straight into the account. I hope you do the right thing by your cham either get the treatment she needs or like jan says give her to some one who will get her help.

ok. I am sorry about that. I should take her to a vet if she needs to but, I wanted to wait it out for a couple days and already contacted the vet about it but, I had to wait it out for a couple days because it might have been to early.

Don't let her see you watching her while she is digging...it will make her abandon the hole and if it happens often enough, it can lead to eggbinding.

She might dig a couple of test holes but should settle on one and dig it until she is happy with it. She should then turn around butt down and lay the eggs, fill the hole in and return to the branches.

Good luck! Glad to hear that she's digging.
