Knock, knock...

Hello,

I don't have any chameleons in my home, but I come here and lurk, mostly looking at all of your photos, because they are such beautiful creatures.

So, last fall I started making some doors and windows for a house I plan to start building in a few years. Then, I thought, such a nice door needs a really cool door knocker. This is what I came up with (temporarily attached to a piece of scrap wood; the actual door is much larger ). No one except me will ever know, but his eyes are pointing in different directions!

I carved it in wax, and sent that to a foundry for casting (it took them 4 months to get it back to me ). I made some half-hearted attempts to learn carving 25 years ago, but this was the first thing I've tried since then...

Well, my home location/situation has never really been ideal for taking care of a chameleon. However, if/when I get this new house done, I should be able to see wild examples in my backyard

Right now, on the Pacific NW coast of the US. If my plans come through, I will relocate to a place whre chameleons are known to live (but the exact place is still a secret )
