Kinyongia Boehmei (searching for a Male)

I remember you. You have stayed big time about the genus Kinyongia. That is epic. Good luck locating a male Kinyongia boehmei.

Best Regards

yes sir. They are just so cool. I love Rostrals, I love the way their skin / scales are, the colors in their dermal lays.. long tails and super active! I don’t have plans to establish them, but do look forward to atleast keeping them for personal enjoyment and learning about the breeding cycle. Good to see you’ve continually been a staple of sound advice around here, Jeremy!

Check with Mathew Gallup on FB, he's in The Chameleon Enthusiast group.

Unfortunately I’ve lost both of my imported KB. They were very young, imported and sold by lllreptile (they were upfront about being imported). The male seemed to be doing really well but took a turn in the last two days and he passed today while I was at work. :(

I still have one of my girls from the CH clutch that hatched 12/2020, and my buddy still has the only male from the clutch. Unfortunately I was not able to pair them. I was intending to do so after the holidays with my now deceased male. :(

They are a great species to raise and I hope to try again in the future, but taking a break for now as all of my crew are now very senior aged.

My condolences about losing your male today. However that you produced results with hatching a captive hatch clutch is positive news.

Kinyongia breeding is something to aspire too. I have got to keep that genus again sometime in the future.

Underground Reptiles has got an advertisement for Kinyongia boehmei right now. They look as though they are selling both males and females.

Best Regards

Yep that’s where my male will be coming from as I’ve had no luck on any of the FB groups or anywhere else locating a male. My CB female, is coming from someone that got WC pairs from underground and said they were in great shape when he got them.

I am building custom enclosures for these, otherwise I’d have them already. Finished the base this week, and will likely start the enclosures soon but they will probably take a month or so (hopefully not). I’m shooting to have them here by mid February.

Pictures when you have got the Kinyongia boehmei pair and the enclosure is done!! I am looking forward to this build.

Yessir absolutely. I’ll create a thread for the build once I complete it, and I’ll also start a thread to track to Boehmei progress all together so it can be a compiled resource for someone later.

For now, here is a picture of a rough sketch of the build. I’ve had this in my head since I had Multis 15 years ago… it’s 54” wide, 24” deep and 48” tall. The cage can be one big cage, (2) 27” wide bays, or the way I’ll be housing the Boehmei, (3) 18” bays. It will have removable deviders to allow for this. The front will actually end up being glass sliders. Sides will be glass as well, with a solid back. The only screen will be the top.

It’ll all be plumbed for drainage, foggers, rain systems, and airflow fans. 🙂
