Welp, project is officially on hold. The male was doing…. seemingly well until about the time the female died. He went down hill quickly and died last Friday….

I got a CB female shipped in that I’ve had since that same Friday. She’s only 3 grams so lots of growing to do.

I’ll be raising her up until she’s large enough to breed. At that point, I’ll get another male to breed her with. So the project is on hold for probably 6 months id imagine. This female is a year old right now but seemingly on the small end. But Wowsa is she a looker!!

I just saw a male at a local shop. Labeled as a Jackson’s
Their current housing isn’t great, but looked pretty alert and healthy. Definitely a wild caught adult. Their other Chams did not look great.
I would really like to get him, but I’m not sure I’m quite ready to put an enclosure together quickly right now

Sorry to hear that. I had the same exact issue, the male died a month or so after the female. Both were imports and both quite small - not babies but underweight and maybe juvenile. I was heart broken to miss what may have been my only shot at grandbabies. My last remaining CH baby is now 4.5!

The CB female is doing quite well. She was only 4 grams when she arrived, and as of a week or so ago she’s up to 7. So she’s now 2 grams larger than the WC female I had. Trying to decide what to do from here. We had been discussing possibly moving back to Utah so I put an instant hold on getting a male and breeding. But, it’s looking like we will stay put in Idaho. So now the question is… continue and get a male to acclimate and then breed, keeping looking for a unicorn CB male, or idk

She eats like crazy but she is SO SHY! The second she sees you, she’s turning away and running off or hiding behind something. Only chance of observation is sitting in the office for awhile and letting her settle down and not realize you’re still in there. The other two were not nearly as shy, so I think it’s more of this particular individual, but not positive.

Will do! Been a busy summer, and not much to share. Got a little bummed when I lost them both which has kept me a bit hesitant. But been talking to some friends in the hobby and I think I’m ready to grab a male , do some fecal tests and hopefully get a pairing. Thanks for all the support, Jeremy!

There is a couple Reptile Conventions happening locally meaning I may have some chameleon breeding happening in the not to distant future.
