So I was just wondering, for a Jacksons Chameleon, or any chameleon for that matter, is it optional to have more than one basking spot? She has a pretty big cage and hangs in different spots throughout the day I was just wondering if that was necessary or not?
It's not necessary to have multiple basking spots and I probably wouldn't recommend it for Jacksons since they require relatively low temperatures. She's self-regulating her body temp when she moves to different spots throughout the day.
I agree with the others. I have a young male Jackson and he has one basking spot which he always goes to first thing in the morning. He spends most of the day wandering around once he's warm, and will go back to his basking spot when he wants to warm up again!
