It happened...

Well, today I went out of town when it was like a bajillion degrees out and almost died! D: LOL

I went to Petco to pick up a repti-sun 5.0 bulb and some feeders for my reptiles. I always check out the reptiles... I came across a Jackson's Chameleon sleeping!! Well, I had the kid take out the chameleon and I held him and looked him over, he did wake up, right before I got him out, the kid coundn't get him so he let me get him out, he puffed up and didn't try to bite. I fell in love with him. <3 LOL. My mom came over and started to look at him and and I notices his back right leg. His last toe was swollen and you could hardly feel the toe nail...

It had wood chips, and sphagnum moss on the bottom of the enlcosure with a water drip on a ledge so it could poor into the shallow dish. I told him to take all of that out and just put a live plant in a screened cage, with nothing on the bottom and the proper lights. Guess, what!? I GOT IGNORED!

Well I put him back and looked around a bit more wanting to take the little guy home. I found 3 tiny veiled chameleons. One by itself and about the size of a thumb head to tail..and two in the enclosure above. It had a tiny one again hanging from the ceiling, eyes closed of course.. There was a bigger veiled eyeing him down too. :c

I got my stuff pretty upset and walked to the register and they asked if I found everything..

My response. No. there is a couple of sick chameleons back there. She gets the manager and my mom looks at me like <-- seriously made that face.

When the careless manager walked up she asked what was wrong, I told her the story and asked her to take out the water dish, and the substrate. her response was "It's company policy" I came back with "It's company policy to sell sick animals and to mistreat them?!" she gave me a retarded look and walked away. When she walked away she offered me a job when I'm 18, but if I do get hired, I have to go by THEIR policies. I DON'T THINK SO! I would tell people to go elsewhere...

So it happened to me.. I am calling corprate tomorrow after work because it's so late and I just arrived home.

that makes me so sad. poor little chams. when i go back to petsmart for crikets theirs gunna b a new baby cham thair replaceing the once i bought and im gunna wanna buy them all

I stormed out of that place. Not to mention I bout 100 dead superworms.. Now I can't go back and return them because it's about 100 miles away..

I couldn't even go into PetSmart after I was done with PETCO.. It was that bad.

I just wish they would care neough to do something about it. why sell dyeing/dead animals? its just wrong. they feel hurt to.

Exactly. I would have taken him out of there for atleast $30.. and get him to a vet and put him in a free range.. :c Next time I go down there in hopefully two-three weeks it will be there.

Anyways, maybe you should have a little "chat" with the manager.... Heheh..... But heres my suggestion, every once and a while check up on the cham's and see if they improve at all, BUT IF IT DOESNT, send them an email. lol.

Its becuase no one wants to think there wrong. its humiluating to have someone tell you your doing a terrible job at your job. i can understand that. but really you should care enough to do something such as.. DO YOUR JOB. hahaha. i mean really shouldnt they take care of them? mabey animal police could get a show where they take all the chams from petsmart and make them sign them over to people who care.
