Temporal gland infection??!!

So Ive removed this gunk from that area of the mouth once before on the other side of the mouth but didnt get any photos. Ive removed this boogiery type of build up, will this continue to come? In the photos you can see it, it smelt like toe jam and even attracted a fly while i was trying to record this.

It was extremely difficult to get to. at first it seems like a little piece of shed sticking from the corner of the mouth...then as my cham yawns in the morning, i see it. It annoys me heavily so i had to finaly pull it all out. Firmly, i had to hold my cham still. I felt so bad after.
hes just sitting there, mouth open. :( though i do think he is relieved...

Have any of you guys experienced this??...i know jacksons are notorious to catch this gland infection

That's a common excretion from the gland in Jacksons. I have not seen it in other species yet but don't have any other montane species. I don't think it's necessarily a cause of the temporal gland infections because it is a normal function and doesn't cause any problems in itself. There is of course the chance that this excretion could be affected by factors such as low humidity, poor nutrition, etc that causes them to buildup or be secreted differently and that could predispose them to infection if it gets 'clogged'. But if it doesn't have complications, yes it will continue to form and will eliminate itself on its own. I've never removed the buildup from my Jacksons and most people do not since it just stresses them out and doesn't accomplish anything. So it's nothing to worry about ultimately. Thanks for posting the pictures so others can see what it looks like!

In this picture you can see the little wings of the goo sticking out from the corners of Buster's mouth.

I have never noticed mine doing it but this may be the natural excretion they rub on branches in the wild to attract insects. *notice the fly :)

im sure this is natural, but how the cham would remove it would be extremely hard to to since most of this is in the folds on the corner part.
