Is this stick too close to the light?

I got my baby Veiled (2-3mo) a week and 2 days ago. I noticed that the highest branches weren't really close enough to get in range of the Reptisun 10.0 compact mini that I have. So, I installed a new branch that gets a lot closer. My cham seemed to like it, and was even basking on it when he normally would be getting ready for bed. However, I know that chams aren't too great at sensing burning, so I just wanted to check that it wasn't burning him. A surface temp gun gave me 81 F, and a temp probe inside the cage read about 82 at the surface of the stick. I have a 75w Reptibasking spot lamp from zoomed. Thanks for helping if you can! In the image, the highest stick is the new one. My cham was basking near the middle, right where the temp probe is.

That would depend on the temperature at that point. I don't have the temps on hand, but the care sheets should provide that info.

You should have more plants around so your cham can get a combination of heat and shade from the UVB, or have the option for UVB and heat if the little guy desires.

The entire middle is covered with foliage, and the lower basking spot has a fake pothos vine. I'm getting a package of 10 assorted tillandsia (air plants) that will go up near the top of the enclosure. I also might get another pothos vine to help with shade. He usually likes to stay more near heat than uvb, probably because I'm using a spot lamp. Thanks!

Be careful with plants above the basking spot. If you Cham is small enough, he could still climb on these plants and be too close to the heat source. I kept my temp around 3-4 degrees lower than this for a awhile because my cham was going higher than the basking spot by climbing on the foliage. The little turkey....:cautious:

Here is the cage with the tillandsia installed.
