Is this idea even remotely grounded in reality?

So I know you're not supposed to use water dishes for hydration because the cham will see it as a toilet, but could you put one in specifically so they could use it as a toilet? It seems like it wouldn't take long for them to get into the habit of going there and then you could just flush it and wash the dish every day and not have to deal with cleaning up the poo directly. I can't see anything wrong with this, but I also feel like there must be some flaw or else people would be doing it. What do you guys think?

Crickets seem to find water and kill themselves in it. Plus, there is the bacteria factor (the chameleon might drink out of it, or bugs might drink the water.)
