I was provided this by my vet for my chameleons mouth rot, is this safe? I’ve applied this to him already but he licked his lips

I have never heard of that cream before. However if your vet recommends the cream the cream should be safe. My vets normally recommend Silver Sulfadiazine cream for topical creams for me for my chameleons.

Did a little search online and saw multiple sources of information saying that it is non toxic for consumption, it looks like some of them were referring to the topical spray version though. I feel like it should be safe especially if suggested to use by a veterinarian.

Just the cream
Generally an antibiotic is ordered to clear the infection. I believe I was given a version this product in the past for my dog’s ear infection, but he was also prescribed antibiotic. If you don’t see any improvement, or the area starts looking worse, say in the next week or so, definitely return to the vet for antibiotic.
