I JUST bought a reptibreeze with a 5 month old panther in it. I am using a 50w heat bulb and i feel the Temp is too high. I placed the heat lamp on the cage and the temp was reading 120 degrees at the higest point (basking spot) and 80 degrees at the lowest. So i moved the heat lamp up about a foot and the temp went to about 100 degrees at the higest and 75 degrees at the lowest. What should i do? I know the cage is to be no hotter then 95 degrees in the basking spot. Should i move it up more? will it be ok if i do so? what about the bottom of the cage, is it ok the be around 70-75?
Also my humidity is at 64% i have a fogger and a mister that i have going off every hour. I dont have real plants in this cage as i plan to move him to my 175 gallon in a few months that has real plants. What can i do to raise the humidity?
