Is it ok for chameleons to sleep daytime

I'm 13. She doesn't eat a lot even when I first got her she didn't eat a lot like every other day she will eat like two worms
Before you treat an illness you need to know what's wrong so you know what to do/use to treat it. That's what I'm trying to do by asking the questions...I'm trying to figure out why your chameleon might be behaving that way so we can advise you of what to do to solve the problem.
If you don't give me exact answers I won't even have a chance of figuring it out.

Is she pooping? How many insects does she eat a week?

How old are you?

She's not eating enough. I would check the temperature in the area she is sitting in. If she's not warm enough she won't be digesting her food properly and won't eat enough.

Is she pooping?

How often do you dust the insects with the supplements? You still didn't tell me enough information about the supplements. Is one phosphorous-free calcium? Is one phosphorous-free calcium with D3? Do you use a vitamin powder?

Yes I have vitamin D3 and phosphorus free. No I don't have the calcium one. And no I don't have the vitamin one either I dust the crickets every time I feed her and how do I get the cage hotter?

ive had my chameleon for a few months I mist her about three times a day but I was wondering is it ok for them to sleep in the day time because mine has been doing that every day and she always does it in her basking area

Not it is not normal for chams to sleep during they day may be a sign of a health problem.

And I give the worms carrots and for the crickets I give dog food carrots and water

dog food is not a good gutload because it is high in animal protein which can cause a uric acid build up in your chameleons and then lead to gout.you should be gutloading with better stuff as @kinyonga said. Here's a link to great info about gutloading by @sandrachameleon

You should be using a phosphorus free calcium powder at most feedings. A phosphorus free calcium with d3 twice a month and a multivitamin twice a month.
Here's a link with info about different supplement s and why there are important to your Chameleon

Do I take her to a vet
It doesn't hurt to take her to one. That way the vet can tell you whats wrong. They know more than what most people on this forum probably do. The vet will probably also try and give you helpful information and tips on caring for you cham like others are doing on here.

Thank you for everyone's help but sadly when I got home my little boomer was passed away I wish I could have taken her to the vet sooner but I was too late I don't think I am going to get another I just can't think of having one that just reminds me of something bad

you´ll do better next time. you know lots more now.

I came into this thread too late.:( Sorry for the loss. Please read and educate yourself, and maybe have your mom also read up on the forum with you as well. No one doubts you had the best of intentions, but as a 13 year old, you have many limits that only a parental figure can assist with, such as money for an emergency vet visit and proper supplies for the chameleon and even the crickets you feed it.

Don't ever believe a pet store sales person when they tell you a chameleon is "easy" to take care of. It's relatively easy, but takes a commitment and money.

I'm sorry for your loss. Boomer will be missed. You came to the right place for help though. I hope, that next time, things will go much better for you. You tried to be the best parent that you could be for Boomer.
