My boy seems extremely skinny to me! My husband says that he looks fine. Hes almost 8 months old and alot smaller than some of these veiled I've seen. Maybe I'm just a worried parent! This pic is the best I could get since he wasnt happy.

8-10 crickets a day... Since he does look skinny to me I start giving him 2 wax worm 2 a week.

For a male veiled of 8 months thats quite a bit of food. My 8 month old eats that everyother day. Try to get some hornworms and silkworms and buttworms in there there not gonna add weight but are extremely healthy.
They have the ability to flatten there ribs to appear fat or suck them in to appear skinny. Can I see his hip bones? That can be sign hes skinny? They also store fat in there casque. Though it shouldn't look bloated it shouldn't be too sunkin in.. a better pic is required really

Yeah he is eating enough. I would give him more options for feeders though. here are a few options that I am sure you already know of but I want to give you some ideas of your options.

Superworms, dubian roaches*, Silkworms*, Hornworms*,Phoenixworms*, meal worms, and you obviously know about wax worms.

The ones with the * are fantastic feeders and can be used as a good chunk of their diet.

just what he said is good for ur cham

I saw your other thread today too, he's fine :) They do look pretty thin sometimes, and they have fairly thin legs. About this age is when they'll start to 'fill out' a bit more but there's no need to try and rush him. Agree with 'ISA my Veiled', if you want different feeders then silkworms/ phoenix worms are low fat, high calcium and will be much better to get him eating those :)

=) just figured I'd throw some more pics up! He wasnt happy about the phone but oh well.

I don't think you are overfeeding and you can still feed him everyday. He is a growing boy at 8 months! and he looks fine!

I'm waiting til I get paid to hopefuly be able to order some more silkies and such but its well over 95 degrees here and I know must places wont ship. pet stores here only sale crickets, supers, and wax worms. =( If I want wax worms I have to go all the way across town just to get them (and I can see the little jackson I really like!). The other place sales hissers but idk if they are good feeders or not.

'Dubian roaches'... lol, dubia roaches :) Great list of great feeders. I need to get my hands on some silkies and hornworms. Variety is key to owning a healthy cham.

Good reason to give him a few waxworms as variety :) Hissers work as a feeder, but you'd need small ones for him - they get large.....
Be careful with the waxworms, they love them but my male veiled got addicted to them and went on a long hunger strike. On just 3 a week, that's why I don't use them at all anymore.........

Hisser nymphs are great feeders for chameleons the size of veileds. They tend to get quite big, but are great feeders! Also they will burn a hole in your wallet... haha.

mine looks the same and he is almost 9 months .
damn i wish mine would eat like yours.
nice cham ! :D

Ok a little concerned!

I went in to check on Ringo this afternoon. Well he wasnt on his FR or in the cage. I found him in the dog crate! Well heres my concern, I have no idea what this is on his casque. Looks like he rubbed his head on something or burned it. He let me touch it which really surprised me since he doesnt like hands. He didnt hiss at me or anything, just a little concerned.
