Can you incest nymphs and stick/leaf bugs? Did anybody tried that? I am getting a cluth of 40-80 nymphs and I want to know if I can inbreed them.

Like can the nymphs breed with each other? Of course, I believe most/all insects don't have to be unrelated for healthy offspring. Haven't looked much into it though.

Interesting question
Many insects produce lots of young. This may help reduce issues with closely related breeding as any bugs with defects will quickly become food for something else and the stronger genetic individuals will be more likely to survive to reproduce.
It’s possible the consistent inbreeding behavior has even produced genes that protect from inborn errors in genetics

totally just BSing/hypothesizing but it’s definitely interesting
