I'm nesting...

Oh Wykd, you are too good to me! So bucket-pump-nozzle? I'm worried about getting the walls wet, the enclosure is in a corner. Thinking of setting the nozzle on the opposite corner, so glad it won't spray too far! I'll probably mist manually too, at least to start with.

Thank you for the plant advice too!

Test out placement while you can before you mount it.

Fill the bucket and hook everything up. Then hold the nozzle where you thing you would want it in the top of the cage. Doing this you will see where you need to mount it so it does not get out of the enclosure. My 1 nozzle does not spray out of the 2x2x4 enclosure in its current placement.

If you are worried, then get some black plastic to cover the back wall and it being black will also hide cords and makes it look better imo. You could put clear plastic on the side that's by the wall or do black plastic again if you needed to. This will also help with the humidity. Some people use shower curtains /shrug it personal preference i guess.

She arrives tomorrow! I'm collecting her from the depot, not sure whether to try to be patient and wait to be told she has arrived, or just camp out there all day... Hey, my car has a DVD player, I think my decision is made...

There is still so much to do to get it all ready for her! I found the PERFECT driftwood twisting vine yesterday, but then lost it when our boat capsized, decided to save the children and my phone, but it was a close call, it was a REALLY nice vine.

Need to perfect plant placement, set up lights, finish the dreaded mister, set the timers and thermometers/hygrometers and find a suitable drainage receptacle.

I got a nice nylon woven pot holder from Home Depot, like this: www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-25ecodZ5yc1v/R-203164844/h_d2/ProductDisplay which I'm hoping will be good for her to climb on, vary the height of the hanging plants and hopefully look nice too.

Ellie you do entertain me. In this country a pot holder is usually something you pick up a hot pan with. I was all fired up to tell you it is to small and her claws will get caught. But the one you bought will be just fine. i can't wait ti see pictures.:):):):)

I'm not even sure it's a phrase we use in my country either! I'm just over-tired, could only remember that a pot holder is something people crochet as gifts! It looks good, synthetic so shouldn't degrade over time and shiny so no fuzzy bits to get tangled in. I'll keep a close eye on her just in case.

I have horrible news Laurie, the only camera I had is the one on my phone, which is still full of half the River Hudson... I'll try to find the cable to connect my daughter's camera to my netbook though...

lol coolness! Better get cracking on that stuff girl, best to have it all done b4 she gets there. That way you can just set it and forget it while he settles in (lol impossible to not sneak in and stare though).

Drainage solutions can be a pia, or if you get lucky a breeze. I am told 24x24 trays from a rabbit tray make a good drain catch, then put a small aquarium pump in it and a hose then you can pump it to outside or into a bucket to toss out.

I went for drilling out a hole in the bottom and draining it into a 5 gal bucket, I will work on automating the drainage this weekend.;)
