Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Hoe, female, about two months from her being a year old, had her 3 months or so
Handling - Only when takeing outside or checking her over
Feeding - Chloe gets a main diet of crikets. she wont eat much other than that but loves waxworms and flies. she gets those as treats. she will eat 6 crikets about this size ( ...... )< some are a little bigger and a little smaller. crikets are gutloaded with fresh fruits, mustards or collard greens, some type of whole sheat cerial and hibiscus leaves.
Supplements - i have repcal with d3 without d3 and multies. she gets dusted crikets everyother two feedings + the d3 and multies on the 10th and 20th. small amounts.
Watering - chloe gets misted twice daily. she sometimes drinks.
Fecal Description - brown with white urate :)
History - had an RI and had to get vet meds due to her inhaling some water dureing a shower. she doesnt get showers anymore.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Freerange, big for her
Lighting - compact 5.0 reptiglow. its brand new. the lights come on at 10am and off at 10pm automatic timer. she wakes up early but goes to bed at the right time.
Temperature - it gets in the high to mid 60's at night. it doesnt get any higher than 80(actually its usually exatically 80.0 under her bulb.) and 75 if she moves further back and lower if she moves away.
Humidity - 50% at the lowist usually. i've got a humidifer by her FR that keeps her humidity high. regularly its 70% gets higher dureing misting.
Plants - She has pothos-4 real, 1 large fake, 2 corn plants- both are real and like 3 feet tall.
Placement - She on my nightstand a few feet above the ground. my ceiling fan is on but on the ceiling so idk if thats a problem. im not 100% shure. something, like 3 feet. thats a super guess tho
Location - SC

Current Problem - Woke up this morning and chloe was on the floor. i thought she was dead and picked her up. she imdieatly started moveing- not weak at all and happily went back on her plant. i think she must have fell last night and just slept on the floor. im worried about her falling but the way she slept last night im not 100% suprised. i put some biovine up so she can walk better but i wanted to make shure theres no underlying problems. thankyou.

You should add more lower level foliage so if she ever does fall again, it will break that fall.

Most likely she did fall when asleep. I am not familiar with chams falling like that but had heard other's discuss it. If you post some pictures, we might be able to offer some thoughts on ways to make her area better for her.

So this may have just been a random event? if she fell at night i wonder why she stayed like that all night. she slept on the floor i think. i added a biovine this morning to make a lttle walkway for her and its nighttime; shes sleeping on it tonight so she wont fall, i think.(she stayed normal dureing the day) i'll add some pics anyways tho :)

sorry about the cruddy quaility, bad phone camra.

ps- this is right before her lights are off(heres is the last light to go off). theres usually alot more light in the room.

okiroo are you saying she fell on the bedroom floor and not an enclosure floor? Poor little one i hope she will be alright. Keep us updated please

I was half asleep when I responded earlier. It seems like a half written response. :p

I didn't realize it was a free range. As chameleonNerd recommended, I think putting pillows down would help a lot!

So, let me ask: if you are free ranging, do you need a laying bin?

no shes a hoe(gives live birth). i have a laying bin for clair the veiled tho who also FR. i think i could go buy something to cushin a landing if she took another fall. im sorta organized so its gunna have to looks nice. lol. yes she landed on the floor. i thought she had died becuz she was sleeping their on the floor (i had jsut turned my lights on to get ready) i picked her up and she started moveing than got up and ate drank ect and was strong as usual.

I'm glad that Chloe seems to be alright. I can tell from your set up you only want the best for her. I think some very pretty fancy pillows on the floor around her FR set up would be very nice.

wow, scary i would think she fell in the night and it was dark so she just said screw it and went back to sleep. i think if her movment and grip seems good, no bruises or anything, and she is eating and drinking like normal than you are most likley ok.
chams are good fallers :)

My solution would be to provide some plants with more branches and stemed leaves. Or add additional vines of a variety diameter. Thus giving more choices for secure sleeping perches. The droopy leaves of a few of your plants do not provide a "lock down" for the feet like a stick, vine, etc. The additions may also provide a breakfall in case of another incident.

May not be the advice you want to hear, I know I spend a lot of time "designing" an enclosure/free range. Sometimes as much as I like a plant, it just doesn't work for the pet. JMHO

-- well in the picture you can see what i've done. i stated i've added biovine beacuse i assumed the same thing you did and she wasnt able to perch well, altough, those leaves shes walks just fine on:rolleyes:

shes walking, eating, drinking perfect ^^ i posted this beacuse i was worried that it could be the start to an illness or something. thankyou everyone for your helpful advice/ideas :)

I hear my chams fall for no reason from time to time. personally i think they are adrenaline junkies at heart LOL. i dont think you have anything to worry about. she probably fell while it was dark. couldnt find a way back up within reach so she slept till daylight. :)
