is this possible i have a vet appointment in an hour and a half and i came home from taking my final and something was hanging outta his mouth it kinda looked like a worm but i think it might be his tongue

Put him in a box with a moist paper towel on the bottom and let his tongue rest on the paper towel until you get to the vet.

It is possible...make sure you keep water on it so it does not dry out...GOOD LUCK! I wish the best for your little guy! :(

Check the inside of this mouth to be sure. Are you sure it isnt a worm of some sort?

I'm very sorry to hear about it, but you do know what his tongue looks like, right?

ya i do but whatever was in his mouth was way sticky kinda grey but it looked like a superworm how they have the lines going across it

i dont but im sure he just passed i dont see a heart beat and he is black :(

I am sorry to hear about your loss. What you were describing was his tongue. They often "loose" control (for a lack of a better term) of their tongue when they pass. And it will hang out of its mouth.

I don't believe he would be black if he passes. Mine was his sleep colors when he passed. I'd imagine that it takes effort to be black... But I'm no expert...

I'm very sorry none the less.

I have seen "black" dead chams. He was or possibly is stressed to the point of no return. If he has not passed it will be soon.

You may not see a heart beat. It is hart to see sometimes and they can hold their breath for a long time. But What you are describing to me sounds like the end.

he is just laying there lifeless and every once an a while he will take a huge breath and move

Keep him comfortable. Wrap him in a towel loosely so you don't have to watch. I don't think he would make it to the vet. Their is nothing that can be done now.

Again I am sorry , it is always so hard to go through this stuff.

ya im sure it was thanksgiving when he got stressed alot of people were looking at him and he turned black and bit my cousin (she is a meth head)

I don't think it was stress from thanksgiving, It may have just been his time. Something may have been going on quietly for some time. If you wanted to know for sure you could get a necropsy.

Don't look for something to blame. Check your setup and go over stuff , but I don't think that is a problem. It just happens sometimes. When I lose one I always do a review to comfort myself , to make sure I was giving the best care possible. Then I move on. Its all you can really do.

Unfortunately when you work with live animals there will always be death.

I think chameleons turn black because they are either stressed or they cant control their natural colors anymore...

Sorry to hear about your loss, and yes you have to review your caring...what you did wrong, and if anything you can do a neocropsy
