I Need Your Expert Opinion

Well, I took Ziggy to another Reptile vet today to get a second opinion. He found some protazoa swimming in his fecal, maybe Giardia.

Anyway, he gave me Flagyl (Metronidazole) to give to him 3 times, once every week for three weeks.

The dosage is .25mL for each one and Ziggy weighs 26 grams. I wanted to make sure from you all that this is an ok dosage for him. Please let me know as I haven't administered the medicine until I can find out.

Are you sure that Ziggy only weighs 26 grams? That seems to be really small.

I know, but yeah I am positive. He weighed that much at the other vet, as well. He's still very small though, and both agreed that he is very healthy in size and weight.

What happened in the last 2 days? I thought he was bouncing back?

He was bouncing back, but I caught him with his eyes closed late yesterday afternoon. He also pooped almost all watery with some brown in it that was really smelly. He seemed weak in the afternoon yesterday. Than this morning, he was acting fine again. I figured it couldn't hurt to get a second opinion and from everything I had been reading, I couldn't believe that pin worms alone were causing his lethargy. It would be different if he was pooping whole worms, but from just some eggs found made me think that there had to be other things.

When I took him to this vet this morning, he pooped some red blood and had the watery smelly stool again. This vet seems to think that the protazoa found in him is causing his digestion problems and lethargy. I'm beginning to think that this is the case. I also had him test for Coccidia which he did not have.

The vet was super great though and invited me into the reptile society here in Oklahoma. I really feel a little more relieved to find that something else was wrong. I think I only found one case from searching where a chameleon died from pin worms, and he was LOADED with them.
