I Need Info About My Laying Bucket!

I have a female Veiled Chameleon who is about 10 months old. I have put a laying bucket in her cage with about 8 inches of organic soil and it is wet enough so it wont collapse if she digs. My question is, how long should i keep the bucket in her cage? The vet recently checked her for eggs and said she is clean, but is there a certain amount of time that she could get eggs??? I know it sounds stupid but I am new to chameleons. Is there a certian age were I can take the bucket out without worrying about her getting eggs???

No there isn't. I have a bit of experience with keeping a Cham before, so I can recognise the signs of being receptive or gravid (pregnant). I still keep a permanent laying bin, just in case she surprises me (they are renowned for these sorts of surprises ).
Get a bit of course sand in the mix and it'll strengthen it for tunneling - you also will only need to keep it damp, not wet, so it will be less likely to get bacteria and mould.

I've just used a combo of reptile sand and peat moss in my laying bucket. Seems to hold pretty good and the peat moss holds the moisture just right for tunneling. I'm waiting for my Nosy Be to drop.
