I need help (the cage)

For the past two weeks I've had a soil and mulch mix at the bottom of my baby veiled cage, and I'm just wondering what I should replace this with. I heard substrates are not good or any better than soil, and as far as I can tell the soil hasn't given her any impactions. I also know that a lot of people don't put anything at the bottom of their cage, but wouldn't the urate get everywhere? I'm confused and don't know what to do. I' still pretty new to this

I have bare bottoms in all of my enclosures. The urate is solid like the poop so it wont get everywhere. In my bigger cages I use a filter fabric just to cover the plastic grid I use for my drainage system. I pick the poop up off of it every day .

I have a bare bottom except for some paper towels under some containers that catch water. Makes it so much easier to clean up poop. Especially since my guy likes to go on the top of one of the containers.
