Ok so to install sat required unplugging lizard heater. I fail to see how several hours(or even days) of no heater would kill a lizard. Its in the state im living in. There is no way a house room would dip below freezing from unplugging a heater. Even if the room got to 60 (that takes over a day of no power in my house) the gecko would be fine and well within Florida temp ranges at night. Hell if its 50-60 out and sunny the cham is going out for sun bath!

The loss of heat source could be an issue if the animal was weak from another issue, but with all being normal I would think its just a bad coincidence.

The lack of heat might not have been the cause of death.

Any decent keeper would notice if such a thing had happened.

No strange technician would ever be allowed around my animals without me there.

Maybe it was dust from the drilling.

Who knows what happened, there are so many things that we don't know. How long did they own the gecko? Did they perhaps buy a sickly gecko from a pet store 3 weeks ago and not even be aware of it? Etc... The heat being off is probably not the direct cause of death, but it's impossible to know what happened to him without knowing more.

It still sucks for the family, especially for the kids.
