Decided to go hiking. Of course, everyone went practically unprepared except myself (and I paid for it, my back hurts!)
I brought a pedometer and it counted 12,000 steps up, and 8,000 down. Of course on the way back we just wanted to go home, LOL.

It was chilly, and where we set up our tent was WINDY! We also found out we need to buy a new tent before going again.
The tent was missing stakes, etc. We could only set up one room.... oops! So we didn't get much sleep.

We ended up scaring ourselves last night, thinking that there was something outside because the wind was shaking the tent so hard.
It was pretty funny.

The whole trip lasted from 11am yesterday until about 8am today. Got home around 9am. Was fun!

Only the first leg of our hike.. :p

There was a geocache past this(supposedly, but we thought we could see the box).. unfortunately the rope up to it was cut, and we didn't have any good hiking gear.

What it looks like further away from the geocache.

The wind made me look big, LOL.

FFIIIIYAAAAHHHH. It was actually pretty cold up there. We dug a big hole and put it close to the rocks and away from everything else, but it has rained enough lately we weren't too worried about the fire jumping. Even then, we made sure someone was watching it at all times.

On the way back down... I slid at least 100 feet total. My bag was heavy!

Showing back up to where we were...

Leaving! Unfortunately our ride wasn't there so we decided to walk down to the closest store just so we didn't stop moving. It was still pretty chilly.

It would have been a great place to think if it wasn't so windy! Should have brought ear muffs or an mp3 player (if I had one).

We had almost made it to the top, but unfortunately we didn't have the needed climbing gear to do so. :(

Any idea what kind of beetles? I wonder what they taste like.... :p

Welcome to the forums, Palor. :D

It's funny, the trips/adventures i remember the most are the ones that were the biggest diasters. Boat almost sinking in the Atlantic during a storm, sneaking into Worlds Fair, with no money for train ride back home, etc. It's just great to be doing stuff with friends.

That looks like so much fun!

I wish something like that was more doable over here.

Get some of them grub things next time you go up and see what they turn into :D I would, hehe

We liked going well enough that we may be doing this every weekend when we all aren't busy.

Gary, I was thinking about grabbing a grub, but then got to thinking about husbandry, calcium... uvb.. I think I'll just google it hehe.
