Hunger Strike?

Do chameleons ever go on hunger strikes? I have a 7 month old panther. His temps are 75 and 88 hot spot. I'm having a hard time keeping his temps up and keeping humidity so I mist like 2 to 3 times a day I manage to keep it in the 50-60 range. Everything else is normal he's moving around, sleeping, and acting fine. He's just not eating as much as he used to. This has been going on for about 1.5 weeks. I'm really worried cause I know they can be delicate. I have a ball python and I know they can go awhile without eating and be fine but can chameleons?

This is somewhat normal…however, if it continues it could be attributed to husbandry or illness.

Btw, what are you feeding him? He might just be bored with the food he's currently getting.

He mainly eats Superworms and Reptiworms. I plan on getting Silkworms and Hornworms soon but they are hard to get right now lol

Worms aren't really the best things for a staple diet.

Try giving his gut loaded crickets and dubia roaches.

I'm not allowed to have crickets or roaches. It's the only rule my roommate made about the reptiles. Are none of the worms Ok?

Worms like meal worms and morio worms are high in fat, its like us eating candy bars every single day, not good LOL and sometimes if they get used to worms, they can become brats and refuse the more healthy options and hope you cave in and give them worms.

My veiled did this just after ONE worm as a treat. Since your cham loves worms so much, try silk worms and horn worms and butter worms, they are the healthiest in the worm department.
