I have a Taotronics that does not have a timer built in I run it on a little 10$ analog timer. I like the analog timer because I can have it go on and off many times a night. Avoid humidifiers with built in timers unless you want to start it even night yourself. I don't think anyone has a work around for those.
Has humidistat built in. So set to 70% or whatever and it will turn on and off as needed, you just have to select power level. Cant be turned on and off with an external timer, which is a bummer.
