How to set up egg containers

i've already got the substrate(vermurlite) do i just put in like 2inch in a tupperwear and them spray with water? also do i punch holes in the container?

I put about 2 inches of vermiculite on the bottom, poured a bit of water in, and mixed around till it was the right amount of wet.

i also sliced some holes in the lid to let the stagnant air out so it wouldnt mold.

I use coarse grade vermiculite with a 4 in deep container with a tight fitting lid. Fill the container within an inch or two from the top and water mix it around. Then squeeze all the water out of the vermiclite with your fist until only a couple of drops come out for some reason you will feel heat don't bug out some kind of reaction to the water. I also put several small holes around the top of the side walls about two in apart and about an in down from the rim. Leave a space in the vermiculite to add water when it drys out. When you have to add water be very careful not to soak the substrate this is critical not to make it to wet you want it moist. One other thing be careful not to drop the container when the eggs are in it. Good luck.

hehe sorry. i add a tiny bit of water a t atime until i can squeeze a fistful of it and only have a water drop or two come out.

yea.
if i can get a handful, and squeeze out a drop or two, i just put it all back in and flatten it out, then i put my eggs in divets id made.

if i had too much water come out, i added some more vermiculite and mixed it around. then did the squeeze test again.
