Hello, I was tending to his cage to add some more vines. He was doing ok until something spooked him and he fell out of the cage bounced off of the back of the couch and then the carpet. As soon as he hit the ground I was about to call a local vet thinking he broke something. But as soon as he stood up he sprinted for some wires. He is now completely climbing the walls of his cage with all legs and his color is going back to a solid green. In the future how can I tell if he breaks a bone I have never seen him fall.

A fall of a few feet in the typical indoor cham cage or onto carpet shouldn't cause fractures. Chams fall out of full sized trees in the wild pretty often. They usually inflate themselves with air to help cushion their landing. If the cham has MBD that can change things, so it's best to avoid this with proper gutloading, lighting, and supplements.
People sometimes see odd lumps or "protruding" ribs. They are not necessarily fractures, as their ribs are not true bone. Little knobby bumps may actually be old fracture sites that have callused. Obviously a cham with a broken leg would be unable to use it normally.

ok thanks for the info I know not to freak out as much. I did a little reading after I posted and read about the puffing up as they fall. 2 hours later and he seems to be fine, just a little stressed over that adventure and the new parts to his cage. As far as calcium he has plenty of it and uvb lighting. I lightly dust in the morning 4 days a week mixed with a vitamin powder as well.

I have a female panther who obviously had a broken right rear hip, as it sticks up a little and the skin makes this weird divot. she eats fine and runs around like she is in a triathalon. If you somehow miss an injury, hopefully you won't, they can heal up pretty good for such delicate little creatures.
